TCL declines 8.84%

For the week, some 399,299 shares trad­ed on the First Tier Mar­ket, a de­crease of 77.14 per cent on the pre­vi­ous week’s to­tal of 1,746,516 shares cross­ing the floor.

The val­ue of the shares trad­ed was down 52.29 per cent to $4,564,203.44 from the pre­vi­ous week’s val­ue of $9,567,066.78.

Massy Hold­ings (MASSY) was the vol­ume leader for week with 26.51 per cent of the mar­ket ac­tiv­i­ty or 105,859 shares trad­ed, fol­lowed by Trinidad and To­ba­go NGL (NGL) with 12.33 per cent of the mar­ket ac­tiv­i­ty or 49,224 shares trad­ed. In third place was Point Lisas In­dus­tri­al Port De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion Lim­it­ed (PLD) with 8.13 per cent or 32,476 shares trad­ed. These shares ac­count­ed for 46.97 per cent of the shares trad­ed this week.

The In­dices end­ed the week in mixed ter­ri­to­ry:

* The Com­pos­ite In­dex in­creased by 0.42 per cent or 4.41 points to close at 1,046.63;

* The All Trinidad and To­ba­go In­dex end­ed at 1,535.91, up 0.56 per cent or 8.53 points;

* The Cross-List­ed In­dex closed at 73.21, un­changed from last week; and

* The Small and Medi­um En­ter­prise In­dex closed at 91.76, down 0.10 per cent or 0.09 points.

For the week, there were four shares ad­vanc­ing and sev­en shares de­clin­ing, while three shares were at their 52-week high, and three shares were at their 52-week low.

The ma­jor ad­vance this week was Unilever Caribbean Ltd (UCL) up 4.71 per cent or $0.62 to close at $13.77, its 52-week high. In sec­ond place was First Cit­i­zens Group Fi­nan­cial Hold­ings (FCGFH) with an in­crease of 2.54 per cent or $1.11 to close at $44.86.

In third place was Sco­tia­bank Trinidad and To­ba­go (SBTT) up 2.01 per cent or $1.08 to close at $54.83.

Trinidad Ce­ment Ltd (TCL) was the ma­jor de­cline for the week, down 8.84 per cent or $0.19 to close at $1.96, its 52-week low. Pres­tige Hold­ings Ltd (PHL) fol­lowed with a de­crease of 1.89 per cent or $0.20 to close at $10.40. In third place was NGL down 1.68 per cent or $0.06 to close at $3.51.

There was no ac­tiv­i­ty on the Sec­ond Tier Mar­ket.

On the TTD Mu­tu­al Fund Mar­ket, 2,459 Ca­lyp­so Macro In­dex Fund (CA­LYP) units trad­ed for the week with a val­ue of $57,623.46. CA­LYP’s unit price closed at $23.42 down 6.13 per cent or $1.53.

On the Small and Medi­um En­ter­prise Mar­ket, no Cin­e­maOne (CINE1) and Er­ic So­lis Mar­ket­ing (SO­LIS) shares trad­ed, while 100 En­deav­our Hold­ings Ltd (EHL) shares trad­ed for the week. SO­LIS’s share price closed at $4 and CINE1’s share price closed at $5.50 both un­changed for the week. EHL share price closed at $17.98 down 0.11 per cent or $0.02 from the pre­vi­ous week.

On the USD Eq­ui­ty Mar­ket, no MPC Caribbean Clean En­er­gy Ltd (MPC­CEL) shares trad­ed for the week.

MPC­CEL shares closed the week at US$0.98, un­changed from last week.
