An 18-year-old has ap­peared be­fore a Mas­ter of the High Court, charged with the mur­der of Vick­ram Ram­lal, which oc­curred on Jan­u­ary 6, 2024.

The Po­lice Ser­vice re­ports that Shane Benn, of Aranguez, was charged with the of­fence when he ap­peared be­fore Mas­ter Shabi­ki Caz­abon, on No­vem­ber 26, 2024.

The Suf­fi­cien­cy Hear­ing date was set for De­cem­ber 4, 2025.

Vick­ram Ram­lal, 48, of Tu­na­puna, was shot and killed in the vicin­i­ty of a bar at Pasea Main Road, on Jan­u­ary 6, 2024.

One male sus­pect was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the in­ci­dent on No­vem­ber 19, 2024.

The ac­cused was charged with the of­fence by WPC Melville, of HBI Re­gion Two, on No­vem­ber 25, 2024, fol­low­ing ad­vice re­ceived from Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions, Roger Gas­pard SC, on that same date.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions were su­per­vised by ASP (Ag.) Vic­tor, W/In­sp. Sylvester, In­sp. (Ag.) Si­mon and In­sp. Mungroo, all of Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions (HBI), Re­gion Two.
