Tobago officers arrested a 22-year-old Les Coteaux man for possession of 28 cannabis trees following an intelligence-led search operation on Thursday.
Around 4:00 pm on March 20, officers were on mobile patrol along Providence Road, Les Coteaux, when they received information regarding firearms being stored at the home of a known drug offender.
Upon entering the premises of the suspect, officers saw several cannabis trees growing on the eastern side of the house. The suspect admitted that nine trees belonged to him but denied being in possession of firearms. An additional 19 cannabis trees growing in pots were found on the Northern side of the house.
He was also found to be in possession of a protected game species during the closed hunting season.
The suspect, an unemployed man, was arrested, the 28 cannabis plants were seized and the animal was released into the wild.
