28 cannabis trees seized from Les Coteaux home

To­ba­go of­fi­cers ar­rest­ed a 22-year-old Les Coteaux man for pos­ses­sion of 28 cannabis trees fol­low­ing an in­tel­li­gence-led search op­er­a­tion on Thurs­day.

Around 4:00 pm on March 20, of­fi­cers were on mo­bile pa­trol along Prov­i­dence Road, Les Coteaux, when they re­ceived in­for­ma­tion re­gard­ing firearms be­ing stored at the home of a known drug of­fend­er.

Up­on en­ter­ing the premis­es of the sus­pect, of­fi­cers saw sev­er­al cannabis trees grow­ing on the east­ern side of the house. The sus­pect ad­mit­ted that nine trees be­longed to him but de­nied be­ing in pos­ses­sion of firearms. An ad­di­tion­al 19 cannabis trees grow­ing in pots were found on the North­ern side of the house.

He was al­so found to be in pos­ses­sion of a pro­tect­ed game species dur­ing the closed hunt­ing sea­son.

The sus­pect, an un­em­ployed man, was ar­rest­ed, the 28 cannabis plants were seized and the an­i­mal was re­leased in­to the wild.
