The na­tion’s pri­ma­ry school chil­dren will be show­ing off their mu­si­cal tal­ents when a se­ries of Dis­trict Mu­sic Con­certs con­tin­ues, on Mon­day 2 De­cem­ber 2024 in Fyz­abad.

The sec­ond Dis­trict Mu­sic Con­cert takes place to­mor­row at Fyz­abad Sec­ondary School, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Ac­cord­ing to a re­lease from the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion, en­ter­tain­ment at the event will be pro­vid­ed by stu­dents from 15 schools with­in the St. Patrick Ed­u­ca­tion Dis­trict, along with mu­sic in­struc­tors from the Min­istry’s Pri­ma­ry Schools Mu­sic Pro­gramme Unit (PSM­PU).

The Dis­trict Mu­sic Con­certs are an ini­tia­tive of the PSM­PU at the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion.  They were de­signed to “high­light the pos­i­tive im­pact of ed­u­ca­tion and give stu­dents the chance to im­prove their per­for­mance skills,” the Min­istry ex­plained in its re­lease.

“The PSM­PU Dis­trict Con­certs show­case the hard work, ded­i­ca­tion, and tal­ent of pri­ma­ry school stu­dents and the PSM­PU Mu­sic in­struc­tors who teach them,” the Min­istry said. “The con­certs pro­vide op­por­tu­ni­ties for stu­dents across many schools to ex­pe­ri­ence per­form­ing in a pub­lic set­ting.”

“It em­pow­ers stu­dents through hands-on learn­ing and cul­tur­al en­rich­ment, align­ing with the Min­istry’s Cul­tur­al Trans­for­ma­tion Pol­i­cy,” it added.
