Three sus­pects were ar­rest­ed, and three firearms and quan­ti­ties of am­mu­ni­tion and nar­cotics were seized dur­ing on­go­ing an­ti-crime ex­er­cis­es con­duct­ed this week in the West­ern and North­ern Polic­ing Di­vi­sions.

In the first ex­er­cise, West­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force of­fi­cers con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise in the North­ern and West­ern Di­vi­sions, be­tween 12:45 pm and 8 pm, on Wednes­day 20 No­vem­ber 2024.

Ac­cord­ing to a Po­lice Ser­vice re­lease, of­fi­cers re­ceived in­for­ma­tion that led them to the Val­sayn dis­trict to con­duct a search.  They had ob­tained re­ports that a man was seen al­leged­ly hid­ing two ob­jects in the vicin­i­ty of a man­go tree in the area.

The of­fi­cers’ search led to the dis­cov­ery of a quan­ti­ty of cannabis at the lo­ca­tion.

Mean­while, in the West End dis­trict, of­fi­cers of the West­ern Di­vi­sion­al Gang & In­tel­li­gence Unit and the West End Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise be­tween 4:10 pm and 6:15 pm, on Thurs­day 21 No­vem­ber 2024.

Dur­ing the ex­er­cise, of­fi­cers ar­rest­ed a 33-year-old sus­pect of Diego Mar­tin and seized one pis­tol loaded with a quan­ti­ty of am­mu­ni­tion.

In the Ari­ma dis­trict, of­fi­cers of the In­tel­li­gence and Op­er­a­tions Team con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise be­tween 1 pm and 4 pm, on Thurs­day, dur­ing which they pro­ceed­ed to Heights of Gua­napo.

Once there, they con­duct­ed a search of a bushy area at the back of a house, which led to them find­ing one pis­tol loaded with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing five rounds of am­mu­ni­tion, along with one re­volver.

Al­so on Thurs­day, be­tween 2 pm and 6 pm, Task Force of­fi­cers con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise in the Ari­ma dis­trict dur­ing which quan­ti­ties of cannabis and co­caine were seized. 

They al­so ar­rest­ed two sus­pects for var­i­ous of­fences.
