The Ministry of Health has recorded 14 new COVID-19 infections from samples taken between January 4 and 6.
Within these newly confirmed infections, one person is from Tobago and another was recently repatriated.
The new cases made 7,210 to be recorded in the country since March 12, 2020.
The number of people to recover also went up to 6,774 after the ministry released 30 people from its care. Of these 16 were discharged from public health facilities while 14 were released from home self-isolation as recovered community cases.
Recovered community cases refer to those who were previously COVID-19 positive and in self-isolation at home and subsequently met the discharge criteria and were released from self-isolation.
The number of cases remaining active now sits at 309.
Of these 23 were in hospitals, 50 were in step-down/transitional facilities and 222 were in home self-isolation (17 of whom were under the care of the prison system). There were 249 people in state quarantine facilities. Deaths remain at 127.
