In a significant development for the Prison Service, Acting Commissioner of Prisons, Deopersad Ramoutar, bestowed the rank of Prisons Officer II upon 34 deserving officers.

This is the third batch of officers to be promoted under his tenure.

During an intimate ceremony held in the Conference Room at the Administration Building, Golden Grove on Friday, Commissioner Ramoutar, shared his journey, emphasizing the importance of vision and transformation in his address to the newly promoted officers.

Ramoutar also used the occasion to urge the freshly minted Prisons Officers II to become shining examples and positive role models for their colleagues.

He stressed the need for them to uphold the highest standards, not only in their professional roles but also in their personal lives.

Recognizing their promotion as a testament to their years of dedicated service, leadership, and commitment, Commissioner Ramoutar reminded the officers that while not everyone can lead the organization, everyone can exhibit leadership qualities and serve as positive influences for the multitude of young officers and inmates entrusted to their care.
