Four men and one woman are the latest victims of COVID-19, with their deaths bringing the national death toll to 3,829 lives lost, according to the most recent report from the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry notes that three of the deceased were elderly males, while the others were an elderly female and a middle-aged male.
All five deceased persons had multiple comorbidities. Among the comorbidities from which they suffered are Diabetes, Hypertension, Cardiovascular Disease, Kidney Disease, Neurological Disease and Cancer.
In its update for today, Saturday 30 April 2022, the Ministry of Health reports that 417 people have tested positive for COVID-19, based on samples taken between 27-29 March 2022.
At this time, total active positive cases are 8,575. Some 191 persons currently are being treated in hospital for the disease.
As of today, some 147,867 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Trinidad and Tobago since pandemic tracking began in March 2020.
Currently, some 711,305 people in the country are fully vaccinated, having completed either a one-dose or two-doses regimen of a COVID-19 vaccine.
And some 150,732 people have received their booster doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, as of today, Saturday, the Ministry’s update reports.
