The Port of Spain Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal’s (POS­GH) Ma­ter­ni­ty Ward wel­comed their first four ba­bies of 2025 this morn­ing, ac­cord­ing to a North-West Re­gion­al Health Au­thor­i­ty (NWRHA) Face­book post.

At 3:09 AM, Thushan­da Dook­ie de­liv­ered a ba­by girl. She was sup­port­ed by the fa­ther of her ba­by, her moth­er, and the hos­pi­tal staff.

The sec­ond ba­by ar­rived at 6:16 AM, when Shimelle Leon Car­ring­ton gave birth to a ba­by boy. Af­ter a short stay in the Neona­tal In­ten­sive Care Unit (NICU), Shimelle was sup­port­ed by her hus­band, two grand­moth­ers, and an aunt.

At 8:54 AM, Nicole Ann Wal­ters de­liv­ered a ba­by girl, fol­lowed by Cherisse Ealie, who gave birth to a ba­by boy at 10:08 AM. Cherisse was sup­port­ed by the fa­ther of her ba­by.

Each new fam­i­ly re­ceived a ham­per to mark the oc­ca­sion.

The NWRHA con­grat­u­lat­ed the fam­i­lies and thanked the ma­ter­ni­ty team for their work.
