A road traffic exercise conducted in the Sangre Grande district on Wednesday resulted in one man being arrested for driving while under suspension, 73 fixed penalty tickets and three warning tickets to motorists.
The exercise began at 2:00 pm and ended 6:00 pm and was conducted along the Eastern Main Road in Valencia in the vicinity of the Pillars and the Bypass Road, Valencia.
Further, 73 fixed penalty notices and three warnings notices were issued to drivers of vehicles for various motor vehicle defects, 15 FST conducted and 20 stop and search forms were filled out.
The exercise continued on Thursday morning by police officers attached to the Valencia Police Post.
A total of 18 fixed penalty tickets were issued for various motor vehicles defects and nine warning tickets.
The first exercise was conducted on Labour Day and continued into Wednesday and Thursday.
He said the exercises will continue and it is one way of preventing the non-resident criminals entering the eastern division and committing crimes giving Sangre Grande a bad name.
