A road traf­fic ex­er­cise con­duct­ed in the San­gre Grande dis­trict on Wednes­day re­sult­ed in one man be­ing ar­rest­ed for dri­ving while un­der sus­pen­sion, 73 fixed penal­ty tick­ets and three warn­ing tick­ets to mo­torists.

The ex­er­cise be­gan at 2:00 pm and end­ed 6:00 pm and was con­duct­ed along the East­ern Main Road in Va­len­cia in the vicin­i­ty of the Pil­lars and the By­pass Road, Va­len­cia.

Fur­ther, 73 fixed penal­ty no­tices and three warn­ings no­tices were is­sued to dri­vers of ve­hi­cles for var­i­ous mo­tor ve­hi­cle de­fects, 15 FST con­duct­ed and 20 stop and search forms were filled out.

The ex­er­cise con­tin­ued on Thurs­day morn­ing by po­lice of­fi­cers at­tached to the Va­len­cia Po­lice Post.

A to­tal of 18 fixed penal­ty tick­ets were is­sued for var­i­ous mo­tor ve­hi­cles de­fects and nine warn­ing tick­ets.

The first ex­er­cise was con­duct­ed on Labour Day and con­tin­ued in­to Wednes­day and Thurs­day.

He said the ex­er­cis­es will con­tin­ue and it is one way of pre­vent­ing the non-res­i­dent crim­i­nals en­ter­ing the east­ern di­vi­sion and com­mit­ting crimes giv­ing San­gre Grande a bad name.
