Police officers attached to the Toco Police Station reported that the body of nine-year-old Omari Providence of Picton Road, Laventille who drowned at Mission Bay Toco while bathing with family members on Sunday is yet to be found. All searches have so far proven futile.
The search continued day into the night on Tuesday by divers of T&T Coast Guard (TTCG), police, villagers and fishermen of Toco and environs, but there was no sight of the body.
Family members with the assistance of police officers and villagers walked the shores of Toco but did not see the body on the shore.
Divers of the Coast Guard, officers of the T&T Air Guard, police officers, villagers, fishermen and others turned out in their numbers on Wednesday morning to continue the search hoping to recover the body.
Police officers believed that the body may have washed out of Toco waters.
The officers reported that divers from the Coast Guard are presently in the waters of Mission Bay, Toco with swimmers from the village trying to locate the body, while Officers of the Air Guard are combing the beaches of the North East Coast looking for Omarie’s body.
Toco Police said all searches are futile.
