AMCHAM calls on Young to prioritise national security

The Amer­i­can Cham­ber of Com­merce of Trinidad and To­ba­go (AM­CHAM T&T) has called on Prime Min­is­ter Stu­art Young to place pri­or­i­ty on en­hanc­ing na­tion­al se­cu­ri­ty, ac­cel­er­at­ing dig­i­tal trans­for­ma­tion to im­prove the ease of do­ing busi­ness and strength­en­ing of in­sti­tu­tions.

In a state­ment fol­low­ing his swear­ing-in cer­e­mo­ny, the cham­ber said," This tran­si­tion marks a piv­otal mo­ment for our na­tion, and we reaf­firm our com­mit­ment to work­ing close­ly with the new ad­min­is­tra­tion.

AM­CHAM T&T looks for­ward to deep­en­ing col­lab­o­ra­tion with the gov­ern­ment on key poli­cies that will ad­vance na­tion­al de­vel­op­ment and align with our long­stand­ing ad­vo­ca­cy po­si­tions of en­hanc­ing the rule of law to cre­ate a more at­trac­tive in­vest­ment en­vi­ron­ment to dri­ve so­cio-eco­nom­ic de­vel­op­ment."

AM­CHAM said it looks for­ward to en­gag­ing Prime Min­is­ter Young and his Cab­i­net "in shap­ing a more pro­gres­sive, in­clu­sive, and sus­tain­able fu­ture for all cit­i­zens to fos­ter long-term eco­nom­ic re­silience, so­cial eq­ui­ty, and glob­al com­pet­i­tive­ness."

Prime Min­is­ter Young was sworn in on Mon­day morn­ing at Pres­i­dent's House while Camille Robin­son-Reg­is was sworn in as At­tor­ney Gen­er­al.
