Police recovered ammunition in Diego Martin and seized a firearm in Maloney during two intelligence-led operations this week.
In the first incident, officers attached to the West End Police Station searched a bushy area along Upper Cadet Hill, Diego Martin, between 8 p.m. and midnight on Thursday 15 May. They recovered a Sig Sauer magazine loaded with fifteen rounds of 9mm ammunition. The ammunition had been reported missing during an anti-crime exercise earlier in the week.
The operation, which was incident-free, was sanctioned by senior officers and carried out by West End Police.
Meanwhile, in Maloney, a Joint Search Warrant Exercise between 3 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on Friday 16 May led to the arrest of three men and the seizure of a revolver. Police first executed a warrant at Building 6, where two suspects were held. Acting on further intelligence, officers searched the eastern stairwell and found a camouflage bag containing a revolver, two walkie-talkies, and a charger. A third man was later arrested at Building 9.
That operation involved multiple specialised units and was coordinated by senior officers in the Northern Division.
