Two days after the body of a Couva man was found in the Caroni River – another body has been discovered in the muddy water. The decomposing corpse was reportedly discovered around 7 am by the Hunters Search and Rescue Team led by Vallence Rambharat.
The group’s assistance was reportedly requested last night, after law enforcement received information that another body had been spotted. The unidentified body was found approximately two km west of the Caroni River Bridge, along the Northbound Lane of the Uriah Butler Highway.
Investigators were unable to say if the two discoveries, days apart, were connected. Rambharat said just like Tuesday’s discovery, this body had been trapped under debris and branches in the river.
The body found on Tuesday has since been identified as Damian Nurse – who was allegedly missing for close to three weeks.
