ANSA McAL has thrown its support behind the 2025 Women in Leadership (WIL) Conference, hosted by the UWI Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business, as part of its push to create more space for women in leadership.
The company was the official sponsor of the event’s networking and cocktail reception, held at the Mt Hope campus on July 8. The reception featured candid conversations and storytelling from women in leadership across the region, followed by a full day of virtual sessions on July 9.
The theme of this year’s WIL Conference—People, Culture and Performance: Strategies for Women in Power—focused on how women are reshaping leadership by leading with empathy, collaboration and purpose. The gathering attracted professionals from several industries and included appearances by President Christine Kangaloo and Works and Infrastructure Minister Jearlean John.
ANSA McAL’s Chief People and Culture Officer, Amy Lazzari, said the partnership with UWI Lok Jack was part of the company’s wider push to recognise leadership potential at every level of its operations.
“Supporting this networking reception was not just the right thing to do but part of an intentional investment from ANSA McAL in supporting people, driving performance and influencing culture,” Lazzari said.
The conference is now in its nineteenth year. ANSA McAL said the initiative fits into its broader culture strategy, which aims to promote equal opportunity and bring diverse perspectives to leadership roles.
Attendees left the event with practical tools, new ideas and a renewed sense of purpose. Organisers said the goal was to equip women to navigate leadership in ways that go beyond performance and begin to shape workplace culture.
