Arima Mayor Cagney Casimire is promising the construction of a major municipal complex, which will house several ministry offices, to be placed on Robinson Circular, just across the road from the new Arima General Hospital.
The design is still in the Early phases going through an architect and preliminary design, but no cost, or timeline has been designated.
Mayor Casimier made the announcement during the launch of the Blood Donation Lounge at the Arima General Hospital.
“There is going to be at least a four storey building, which will house the services that are provided by certain ministries, finance, legal services, social development, planning and development,” Mayor Casimire said. “I am told even National Security wants to have some offices in the buildings.”
He said he expects the demands in this area to increase as well so in the plans is a multi-story car park as well which he hopes the Hospital can utilise.
There is a plan as well for the refurbishment of the Arima Velodrome at a cost almost $80 million.
