Ari­ma May­or Bal­li­ram Ma­haraj vis­it­ed his al­ma mater Ari­ma Boys Gov­ern­ment School yes­ter­day and do­nat­ed $10,000 to­wards school ex­pens­es.

He made the do­na­tion to Prin­ci­pal Kurt Flem­ming dur­ing a vis­it where he al­so spoke on the oc­ca­sion of In­ter­na­tion­al Chil­dren's Day.

May­or Ma­haraj urged the pupils to al­ways as­pire to high­er heights.

The may­or's of­fice says the do­na­tion came from the may­or's per­son­al salary. The of­fice says the may­or is en­thu­si­as­tic about sup­port­ing the school's achieve­ments in sport and aca­d­e­mics.
