Trucks and trailers with permits to operate on the band route on Carnival Monday and Tuesday will have their validation stickers in time, courtesy a collaboration between the Association of Trinidad and Tobago Insurance Companies (ATTIC), the Trinidad & Tobago Police Service (TTPS) and the National Carnival Bands Association (NCBA).
In an official statement from ATTIC, the Association confirms that the stickers will be available for those with the necessary permits.
The release explains that the collaboration initially began prior to 2005 through the NCBA, and is now under the Mobile Office of the Assistant Commissioner of Police. ATTIC has sponsored the initiative from that time to the present.
ATTIC says this move is an important one for public safety and the successful coordination of the road activities for Carnival.
According to the Association, only the vehicles that have met the required criteria laid out by the TTPS—which includes valid vehicle insurance, proof of ownership and insurance coverage for every passenger / person on the vehicle—are granted a permit.
