A 29-year-old Belmont man has been charged with the murder of Amoa Howe, which occurred outside the Gloster Lodge Moravian Primary School in Belmont.
The incident occurred on February 20 and left pupils, parents and staff traumatised. It also led to increased police patrols around the school and other schools in Port-of-Spain.
In a statement yesterday, the TTPS revealed that Kenson Hector appeared charged with the offence before Master Shabiki Cazabon in the North Court B on May 24.
The Sufficiency Hearing has been set for February 28, 2025.
Howe, 50, of Gloster Lodge Road, Belmont, was close to his home when he was shot and killed near the primary school.
Police said extensive investigations into the incident resulted in the arrest of a male suspect on May 15 by officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force.
Hector was charged by PC Mootie, of HBI Region One, on May 23, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard on that same date.
