The body of a man first seen float­ing off Care­nage on Sun­day re­mains uniden­ti­fied.

Coast­guard of­fi­cers were alert­ed around 7:30 am that a body was spot­ted in the wa­ter near Five Is­lands Wa­ter-Park.

Act­ing on fur­ther in­for­ma­tion, the of­fi­cers then pro­ceed­ed eight nau­ti­cal miles west of Fe­lic­i­ty in Cen­tral, and con­tin­ued the search.

Around 10.40 am, the of­fi­cers ob­served a body float­ing face down, drift­ing south.

The body was tak­en back to Staubles Bay in Ch­aguara­mas. A dis­trict med­ical of­fi­cer said the vic­tim had been in the wa­ter for ap­prox­i­mate­ly three days, and could have suf­fered pos­si­ble trau­ma to the head.
