A six-year-old boy and a 41-year-old man were shot and wounded while overnighting at a friend’s house in Morvant on Sunday.
Police reported that at about 1.45 am on Monday they were awaken by a loud noise.
The older man saw a masked man in the house armed with a gun.
The 41-year-old attempted to fight the suspect in a bid to subdue him, however, the gun went off, shooting him on the right foot.
The suspect then attempted to run away but fired another shot at the older man and ended up shooting the six-year-old, who ran out of a bedroom.
The boy was shot on the left foot.
Both victims were taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where they were treated.
The 41-year-old was subsequently discharged but the boy was warded for further examination.
