A San­gre Grande man is ex­pect­ed to ap­pear vir­tu­al­ly be­fore a Mag­is­trate to­day charged with the mur­der of his broth­er, Kendall Williams.

Ac­cord­ing to the po­lice Mal­ick Williams, 25 of El Car­men Street, Fos­ter Road, was charged with the of­fence fol­low­ing ad­vice re­ceived from Act­ing Deputy Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions (DPP), Joan Hon­ore-Paul, on Mon­day.

Kendall Williams, 26, aka ‘Bush­man’, al­so of Fos­ter Road, San­gre Grande, was at his home on Sun­day March 21, when he ob­served two male rel­a­tives, one of them armed with a gun, hav­ing a heat­ed ar­gu­ment. As Williams ap­proached the men, the gun­man ran to­wards him and fired sev­er­al shots in his di­rec­tion. Williams ran off and he was pur­sued by the gun­man who con­tin­ued shoot­ing at him. He was hit and died at the scene, while the male rel­a­tive ran off.

The ac­cused was ar­rest­ed short­ly af­ter by of­fi­cers of the San­gre Grande Po­lice Sta­tion while in a car.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions were su­per­vised by ASP Dou­glas of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions, (HBI) Re­gion 2, while WILLIAMS was charged by PC James, al­so of HBI Re­gion 2, on Mon­day.

Mean­while, a want­ed for mur­der was ar­rest­ed Mon­day evening by of­fi­cers of the Spe­cial Op­er­a­tions Re­sponse Team (SORT) head­ed by In­spec­tor Mark Her­nan­dez.

The SORT team de­tained the sus­pect who is want­ed for ques­tion­ing in con­nec­tion with the mur­der of Nicholas Mo­hit which oc­curred at his place of busi­ness on March 11 at the East­ern Main Road, Arou­ca.

Po­lice say around 7:36 pm Mon­day SORT per­son­nel were on pa­trol in a marked po­lice ve­hi­cle when they went to Race­track Road, Cara­po, Ari­ma, in the vicin­i­ty of Al Is­lamia Jammah Mosque.

At that lo­ca­tion, the po­lice of­fi­cers ob­served the sus­pect stand­ing out­side the mosque. The of­fi­cers ap­proached him, in­form­ing him of the re­port of mur­der be­ing in­ves­ti­gat­ed.

Po­lice al­so seized one Ap­ple iPhone 8 from the sus­pect, who lives at Sher­wood Park, Ari­ma. The sus­pect was tak­en to the Tu­na­puna Po­lice Sta­tion where he is de­tained.
