Trinidad and To­ba­go will be rep­re­sent­ed by an 86-mem­ber con­tin­gent (68 Ath­lete and 18 Of­fi­cials) at the up­com­ing CARIF­TA Games, to be held in St. George’s, Grena­da from March 30th to April 1st.

Among the ath­letes don­ning na­tion­al colours are de­fend­ing 200m Girls’ U20 Gold Medal­list, Sanaa Fred­er­ick and Boys’ U20 5,000m Cham­pi­on, Ta­fari Wal­dron.

Fred­er­ick and Wal­dron were ad­judged Fe­male and Male U20 Ath­letes of the Year re­spec­tive­ly at NAAATT’s 2023 An­nu­al Awards Cer­e­mo­ny on Jan­u­ary 20th.

NAAATT’s U18 Fe­male Ath­lete of the Year, Janae De Gannes and Pres­i­dent’s Ris­ing Star Awardee, Keneisha Shel­bourne have al­so been se­lect­ed on the Team.

Three sets of twins are among the ath­letes se­lect­ed: The Fred­er­ick sis­ters, Sanaa and Sole; the Lewis broth­ers Khor­dae and Khordel; and broth­er and sis­ter Tyrique and Tenique Vin­cent, tru­ly a rar­i­ty on any team.

The team is ex­pect­ed to de­part T&T on 2024 March 28th and re­turn on April 2nd.
