Trinidad and Tobago will be represented by an 86-member contingent (68 Athlete and 18 Officials) at the upcoming CARIFTA Games, to be held in St. George’s, Grenada from March 30th to April 1st.
Among the athletes donning national colours are defending 200m Girls’ U20 Gold Medallist, Sanaa Frederick and Boys’ U20 5,000m Champion, Tafari Waldron.
Frederick and Waldron were adjudged Female and Male U20 Athletes of the Year respectively at NAAATT’s 2023 Annual Awards Ceremony on January 20th.
NAAATT’s U18 Female Athlete of the Year, Janae De Gannes and President’s Rising Star Awardee, Keneisha Shelbourne have also been selected on the Team.
Three sets of twins are among the athletes selected: The Frederick sisters, Sanaa and Sole; the Lewis brothers Khordae and Khordel; and brother and sister Tyrique and Tenique Vincent, truly a rarity on any team.
The team is expected to depart T&T on 2024 March 28th and return on April 2nd.
