Central Division police conduct coordinated crime-fighting operations

Of­fi­cers of the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion con­duct­ed a se­ries of co­or­di­nat­ed an­ti-crime, drug block, and road traf­fic op­er­a­tions across Ch­agua­nas, Cou­va, Freeport, Long­denville, and sur­round­ing ar­eas on Fri­day, May 16, 2025.

The op­er­a­tions re­sult­ed in the ar­rest of eight in­di­vid­u­als for var­i­ous of­fences, in­clud­ing pos­ses­sion of co­caine and mar­i­jua­na, pos­ses­sion of drug para­pher­na­lia, dri­ving un­der the in­flu­ence, and mat­ters re­lat­ed to rob­bery en­quiries.

In ad­di­tion, po­lice is­sued 41 Fixed Penal­ty No­tices for a range of traf­fic vi­o­la­tions, in­clud­ing seat­belt in­frac­tions, op­er­at­ing ve­hi­cles with­out in­sur­ance, use of hand­held de­vices while dri­ving, traf­fic sign breach­es, and ve­hi­cle in­spec­tion of­fences.

Over 110 Stop and Search/Street Check Forms were com­plet­ed dur­ing the op­er­a­tions. Po­lice al­so ex­e­cut­ed eight out­stand­ing war­rants, with a com­bined to­tal val­ue of over $66,000.

These ex­er­cis­es were part of the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice’s on­go­ing ef­forts to dis­rupt crim­i­nal ac­tiv­i­ty, en­force traf­fic laws, and en­hance pub­lic safe­ty.
