Police have confirmed that a Chaguanas businessman was killed in an accident on Monday afternoon in Toco.
According to a police report, at about 1:50 pm, Ag Cpl Ali and party of officers responded to an accident report in the vicinity of Lp #12 Penzance, Balandra.
On arrival at the scene, the officers observed a white Kia Sorrento facing west across the north-bound lane, with extensive damage to the entire front.
The officers also observed debris along the roadway. They found a man of East Indian descent slumped in the driver’s seat. He was clad in a red jersey and a pair of long blue jeans.
Police said he was pinned beneath the vehicle’s steering wheel and appeared motionless.
The driver was later identified as Ravesh Jhinkoo of Chaguanas.
Jhinkoo was a businessman who operated a ceiling installation company together with his wife, Stacy.
He was pronounced dead on the scene by the District Medical Officer.
