Lovers of Traditional mas were treated on Carnival Monday night, when the Chaguanas Carnival Committee staged its Traditional Mas showcase at Ramsaran Street, Chaguanas.
Chairman of the Carnival Committee Orlando Nagessar said the event was not a competition and persons who appeared would be paid an appearance fee.
He said the objective of the event was to rejuvenate an interest in traditional mas characters and give exposure to youth playing traditional mas.
At the showcase several individuals and two traditional bands took part.
Carol and Family Bring Back Traditions featured Midnight Robbers, the La Diablesse or La Jabless, Pierrot Grenade and Dame Lorraines.
The Enterprise Police Youth Club brought on a band of coloured and black Bats much to the delight of the audience.
Also appearing was the small pan side Pan Angels out of Enterprise.
