The Trinidad and To­ba­go Coast Guard has is­sued a state­ment con­cern­ing a shoot­ing in­ci­dent, ear­li­er to­day, in which one of its mem­bers was in­volved.

The in­ci­dent took place in South Orop­uche, just be­fore 6 am to­day.

HOLD­ING STATE­MENT FROM THE TRINIDAD AND TO­BA­GO COAST GUARD

The Trinidad and To­ba­go Coast Guard is aware that one of its mem­bers was in­jured in a shoot­ing in­ci­dent that oc­curred this morn­ing. The mat­ter has en­gaged the at­ten­tion of the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice and in­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing in­to the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the shoot­ing.

The Trinidad and To­ba­go Coast Guard re­mains com­mit­ted to work­ing to­geth­er with part­ner agen­cies as we strive to con­tin­ue to pro­vide safe­ty and se­cu­ri­ty to the peo­ple of Trinidad and To­ba­go.
