A 43-year-old Coast Guard officer drowned in Las Cuevas yesterday morning.
Kevin Walcott went to the popular beach with a group of relatives and co-workers. Shortly after 9.30 am, he got into difficulties while swimming and was pulled out of the water by two villagers.
Lifeguards attempted to resuscitate Walcott but were unsuccessful. He was taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
