PNM Diego Mar­tin East MP Colm Im­bert spoke at last night's PNM meet­ing in Diego Mar­tin de­spite the death of his fa­ther, Desmond, ear­li­er in the day. This was con­firmed by Joan Bra­ma, pub­lic re­la­tions of­fi­cer of the PNM's Diego Mar­tin East con­stituen­cy of­fice.

Desmond Im­bert, who had been a pro­fes­sor of en­gi­neer­ing at UWI, St Au­gus­tine, died yes­ter­day morn­ing fol­low­ing sev­er­al months of ill­ness. He had been hos­pi­talised in Jan­u­ary for surgery. He was the hus­band of Dr Mau­ra P Im­bert of UWI's As­tron­o­my De­part­ment. He was al­so the broth­er of T&TEC chair­man Clement Im­bert.
