Police have held and charged two men for murder.
In the first incident, Junior Barrack, 28, of Enterprise, appeared in court charged with the murder of Mark Quashie, a 33-year-old market vendor from Felicity, Chaguanas.
The incident occurred on March 16 at the Chaguanas Market where Quashie was shot at his stall by a gunman.
Barrack was arrested on July 31 and formally charged on August 2 by WPC Candace Murren, following advice from the Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions (Ag) Subrina Doorgadeen-Jaglal.
Barrack appeared before Master Cazabon in the North A Criminal Court on Monday.
In the second case, Carmichael Pino, 39, a labourer from Tabaquite, was charged with the murder of Julien Halls, 41, a chemical mixer with the Water and Sewerage Authority.
The incident occurred on July 21 at a bar in Tabaquite where Halls was stabbed in the chest following an argument. Pino was charged on August 2, by PC Sean Lall and appeared before Master Cazabon on Monday.
Supt Persad led both investigations.
The TTPS said it was pleased with the swift response and thorough investigations conducted by the HBI Region Three.
