T&T has now recorded 103 cases of COVID-19.
In its latest update Saturday, the Ministry of Health confirmed the figure, noting that some 736 people had now been tested for the virus. The number of deaths remained at six while one patient has so far been discharged.
The positive cases increased by two from the morning update provided by the ministry. It noted that of the overall figure, 49 of the positive cases came from the group of 68 nationals who recently returned from a Caribbean cruise.
The news comes even as the ministry said it has moved 17 patients from the Couva Hospital to Caura as they show signs of recovery. The patients were reportedly moved on Friday night.
The ministry reminded the public to avoid touching their faces with their hands as this increases the risk of contracting the virus and to themselves by washing their hands often with soap and water or by using an alcohol-based sanitizer that contains at least 60 per cent alcohol. It also reminded the public to maintain at least 2 metres (approximately six feet) distancing between yourself and others.
