Residents in parts of South and Central Trinidad will have to further manage their water used as the Point Lisas Desalination Plant will shut down for maintenance from Monday.
In a media conference at Desalcott's office in Point Lisas this afternoon, acting General Manager Rajesh Ragoonanan announced that the maintenance will run until November 17.
WASA's acting CEO Kelvin Romain said production will be ramped up at the Caroni Water Treatment Plant and Navet Water Treatment Plant to supplement the shortfall in supply.
WASA will publish a revised supply schedule on all its media tomorrow.
Desalcott supplies WASA with 40 million gallons of water per day.
WASA said it has measures in place to provide schools, hospitals and certain government institutions with a truck-borne water supply if needed.
