The Di­vi­sion of Food Se­cu­ri­ty, Nat­ur­al Re­sources, the En­vi­ron­ment and Sus­tain­able De­vel­op­ment says it raised the is­sue of “eq­ui­ty in re­source al­lo­ca­tion” dur­ing a meet­ing with Agri­cul­ture Min­is­ter Ravi Rati­ram last Fri­day.

A re­lease from the di­vi­sion said the con­ver­sa­tion fo­cused on ar­eas for na­tion­al col­lab­o­ra­tion, eq­ui­ty in re­source al­lo­ca­tion, and strength­en­ing tech­ni­cal part­ner­ships “to sup­port To­ba­go’s agri­cul­tur­al, fish­eries and nat­ur­al re­sources sec­tors.”

The min­is­ter met with the sec­re­tary, as­sis­tant sec­re­tary, ad­min­is­tra­tor, and key staff dur­ing a cour­tesy vis­it to the di­vi­sion’s head of­fice.

The di­vi­sion de­scribed the talks as “strate­gic dis­cus­sions.”

“The di­vi­sion gave Ravi Rati­ram, Min­is­ter of Agri­cul­ture, Land and Fish­eries, a warm To­ba­go wel­come,” the re­lease said.

“The di­vi­sion looks for­ward to con­tin­ued col­lab­o­ra­tion and deep­ened part­ner­ship with our na­tion­al coun­ter­part as we work col­lec­tive­ly to­ward a re­silient, food-se­cure Trinidad and To­ba­go.”
