Assistant Commissioner of Police South/Central Wayne Mystar said yesterday that eight suspects linked to car thefts have been arrested during the ongoing State of Emergency (SoE).

“We have been going after persons in terms of arrests linked to various criminal activities. We are seeing a major breakthrough in the car-stealing ring. Those eight persons will be critical in our investigations and will link us to several motor vehicle thefts. I don’t want to say much more as it stands now, but it is a major breakthrough,” Mystar said.

So far, 126 arrests have been made and 17 guns removed from the streets during the SoE, the TTPS has said.
