Heavy rainfall this morning has caused flooding across parts of northern Trinidad, including Port-of-Spain, Tunapuna and Pasea.
All eastbound lanes of the Churchill Roosevelt Highway between Pasea and Macoya are flooded at this time.
According to J-Lynn Roopnarine, councillor for Curepe/Pasea within the TPRC, a drain that runs under the highway before Macoya has been blocked.
However, the drains paralleling the highway were also blocked.
While drains along the highway were cleared by the TPRC, the Works and Transport Ministry has been working to clear the drain running under the highway, which was not completed before today’s rainfall.
