Po­lice of­fi­cers ar­rest­ed a for­mer na­tion­al foot­baller with firearms and am­mu­ni­tion dur­ing an ex­er­cise con­duct­ed un­der the State of Emer­gency in the West­ern Di­vi­sion.

The op­er­a­tion took place be­tween 5:30 pm and 9:30 pm on Tues­day (De­cem­ber 31, 2024), and was car­ried out by mem­bers of the West­ern Di­vi­sion Gang In­tel­li­gence Unit and the Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment.

Guardian Me­dia un­der­stands po­lice of­fi­cers ex­e­cut­ed a search at a res­i­dence on Pi­o­neer Dri­ve, Pe­tit Val­ley, be­long­ing to a 55-year-old man.

They dis­cov­ered a hid­den cache of weapons in a bed­room.

Among the items seized were an AR-15 ri­fle, two CZ pis­tols, one Glock pis­tol, and a Smith and Wes­son pis­tol, along with a range of 5.56, 9 mm, .38, and .40 cal­i­bre am­mu­ni­tion.

Of­fi­cers al­so found and seized $25,000 USD and $139,865 TTD in cash, which were sub­mit­ted to the Fi­nan­cial In­tel­li­gence Bu­reau.

The ar­rest­ed in­di­vid­ual is as­sist­ing with the in­ves­ti­ga­tion.
