Police officers arrested a former national footballer with firearms and ammunition during an exercise conducted under the State of Emergency in the Western Division.
The operation took place between 5:30 pm and 9:30 pm on Tuesday (December 31, 2024), and was carried out by members of the Western Division Gang Intelligence Unit and the Criminal Investigations Department.
Guardian Media understands police officers executed a search at a residence on Pioneer Drive, Petit Valley, belonging to a 55-year-old man.
They discovered a hidden cache of weapons in a bedroom.
Among the items seized were an AR-15 rifle, two CZ pistols, one Glock pistol, and a Smith and Wesson pistol, along with a range of 5.56, 9 mm, .38, and .40 calibre ammunition.
Officers also found and seized $25,000 USD and $139,865 TTD in cash, which were submitted to the Financial Intelligence Bureau.
The arrested individual is assisting with the investigation.
