Four peo­ple were ar­rest­ed for mul­ti­ple of­fences in­clud­ing rob­bery across sev­er­al di­vi­sions over the past two days. 

The fol­low­ing is a press re­lease from the TTPS: 

Quick and co­or­di­nat­ed po­lice re­spons­es, re­sult­ed in four per­sons be­ing ar­rest­ed for mul­ti­ple of­fences, dur­ing mul­ti­ple an­ti-crime ex­er­cis­es con­duct­ed across sev­er­al Di­vi­sions over the past two days. 

In the first in­ci­dent, a swift re­sponse from of­fi­cers of the St. Mar­garet’s Po­lice Sta­tion thwart­ed an at­tempt­ed shop break­ing at a Clax­ton Bay busi­ness place on Tues­day 13th Sep­tem­ber, 2022. 

Up­on ar­riv­ing at the lo­ca­tion, the of­fi­cers ob­served three masked sus­pects out­side the build­ing. On see­ing the of­fi­cers, the men ran off, but one sus­pect was held a short dis­tance away. 

In the sec­ond in­ci­dent, of­fi­cers of the Cen­tral Di­vi­son Task Force, Area South, in­ter­cept­ed a mo­tor ve­hi­cle with two male sus­pects fol­low­ing a re­port of As­sault with In­tent to Rob, in the Preysal dis­trict a short while ear­li­er. 

The men, ages 27 and 38, both of Pi­ar­co, were ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the in­ci­dent. 

Mean­while, a po­lice-in­volved shoot­ing in­ci­dent in the North East­ern Di­vi­sion last night, re­sult­ed in the ar­rest of one sus­pect, the re­cov­ery of one mo­tor ve­hi­cle and sev­er­al mo­bile de­vices which are be­lieved to have been stolen. 

Of­fi­cers of the NED In­tel­li­gence Unit, the NED Task Force, the Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment Crime Pa­trol re­spond­ed to a re­port of Armed Rob­bery in the Aranguez dis­trict around 8:15 pm, on Wednes­day 14th Sep­tem­ber, 2022. 

While pro­ceed­ing to the lo­ca­tion, the of­fi­cers ob­served two sus­pects cross­ing the Pri­or­i­ty Bus Route and at­tempt­ed to ap­pre­hend them. 

One of the men al­leged­ly point­ed an ob­ject re­sem­bling a firearm in the di­rec­tion of the of­fi­cers and shot at them. The of­fi­cers, in keep­ing with the Use of Force Pol­i­cy, re­turned fire in the di­rec­tion of the sus­pect. 

One 19-year-old man was sub­se­quent­ly ar­rest­ed and a mo­bile phone which was re­port­ed stolen, found in his pos­ses­sion. 

Sub­se­quent search­es of the area re­sult­ed in of­fi­cers find­ing three more mo­bile de­vices. 

Act­ing on in­for­ma­tion, the of­fi­cers pro­ceed­ed to the Mor­vant dis­trict, where they dis­cov­ered two mo­tor ve­hi­cles- a sil­ver Nis­san Ti­i­da which was re­port­ed stolen last month and a Nis­san Syl­phy bear­ing a false li­cense plate. 

And, an Op­er­a­tion Strike Back ex­er­cise con­duct­ed in the San­ta Cruz dis­trict by of­fi­cers of the NEDTF and the Ca­nine Branch, re­sult­ed in the dis­cov­ery of one pis­tol loaded with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing eight rounds of am­mu­ni­tion. 

In­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing in­to all the in­ci­dents.
