Four men were held following a home invasion in D'Abadie yesterday. According to police reports, officers responded to a report of a robbery in D'Abadie around 2pm and observed a vehicle with four occupants proceeding south along the Mausica Road and gave chase. During the incident there was an exchange of gunfire and the four men were subsequently held.

Four men were held and a firearm was seized within minutes of a reported home invasion incident in the Arima district yesterday afternoon, following swift and coordinated work by officers of the Northern Division.
Officers of the Northern Divison Task Force Area North, responding to a report of robbery with aggravation in the D’Abadie district around 2 pm, on Wednesday 6th April, 2022, observed a vehicle with four occupants proceeding south along the Mausica Road and gave chase.
During the incident, there was an exchange of gunfire between the suspects and the officers. The four men were subsequently held and a firearm was seized. One of the suspects who was nursing a gunshot wound was taken to hospital for treatment. The exercise involved officers of the Maloney Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Arima CID, the Northern Divison Task Force Gang Unit and the Road Policing Task Force.
Meanwhile, an anti-crime exercise was conducted in the Arima and Malabar districts between 1 pm and 8 pm, on Wednesday 6th April, 2022, by officers of the Arima Operations Unit, the Malabar Crime Patrol Unit and the Canine Unit. The exercise was spearheaded by ACP Samaroo, Snr. Supt. Paponette, Supt. Edwards and coordinated by ASP Ettiene and Insp. Ramharack.
During the exercise, several search warrants were executed at various locations. Then, acting on information received, officers proceeded to an open unoccupied lot of land located at Trainline, Malabar, where they conducted a thorough search. The search resulted in officers finding one pistol fitted with a magazine, along with a quantity of cocaine. A quantity of marijuana was also found at another location in the Arima district. Investigations are ongoing.
