Four men are ex­pect­ed to ap­pear vir­tu­al­ly be­fore a Tu­na­puna Mag­is­trate to­day, charged with the mur­der of Trevlayne Dedi­er, which oc­curred on Fri­day 27th Au­gust 2021.

The men, who are all of Tu­na­puna, al­so face charges of pos­ses­sion of a firearm and pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion.

The four ac­cused are: AN­THO­NY THOMAS, aka ‘An­tho­ny Lewis’ and ‘Scoo­gie’, 30; JER­RON BAP­TISTE, aka ‘Bush’, 27; SHA­KEEM GOODRIDGE, 22; and JAHIEM LEWIS, 19.

Ad­vice to lay the charges came from Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions (DPP) Roger Gas­pard SC, on Sat­ur­day 4th Sep­tem­ber 2021.

Ac­cord­ing to of­fi­cial po­lice re­ports, on Fri­day 27th Au­gust 2021, Trevlayne Dedi­er, 33, of Up­per Fair­ley Street, Tu­na­puna, was in the com­pa­ny of sev­er­al oth­er per­sons at the cor­ner of Achong and Fair­ley Streets, Tu­na­puna, when a blue Nis­san Wingroad mo­tor ve­hi­cle pulled up and three gun­men ex­it­ed. The as­sailants fired sev­er­al shots in the di­rec­tion of the group be­fore es­cap­ing in the ve­hi­cle in which they came.

Dedi­er was lat­er found dead with gun­shot wounds about his body.

Of­fi­cers of the North­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force re­spond­ed to the in­ci­dent and ar­rest­ed four sus­pects at Thomp­son Street, Tu­na­puna, on the same day as the shoot­ing in­ci­dent.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions were su­per­vised by ASP Lin­don Dou­glas, In­sp. Ho­sein, W/In­sp (Ag.) Sylvester and In­sp. Ram­jag, all of Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions (HBI), Re­gion 2.

The four ac­cused were charged by PC Ram­di­al, al­so of HBI Re­gion 2, on Sun­day 5th Sep­tem­ber 2021.
