Free LED light bulbs available from tomorrow

Start­ing from to­mor­row (Tues­day), if you go in­to a T&TEC Ser­vice Cen­tre to pay your elec­tric­i­ty bill, you can col­lect your free LED light bulbs at the same time.

This ac­cord­ing to Pub­lic Util­i­ties Min­is­ter Mar­vin Gon­za­les and the chair­man of T&TEC, Kei­th Sir­ju.

Both men were speak­ing at a vir­tu­al press con­fer­ence held on Mon­day af­ter­noon. The an­nounce­ment comes al­most one year af­ter Fi­nance Min­is­ter Colm Im­bert an­nounced that LED bulbs would be giv­en out to all house­holds in T&T in his 2019/2020 bud­get pre­sen­ta­tion in Oc­to­ber 2019.

Sir­ju said T&TEC has al­so launched its En­er­gy Man­age­ment Ap­pli­ca­tion- an on­line-based ap­pli­ca­tion which al­lows reg­is­tered users to track their en­er­gy con­sump­tion over the last year, to track their dai­ly en­er­gy us­age, their car­bon foot­print and cal­cu­late the cost of their elec­tric­i­ty con­sump­tion.

T&TEC sys­tems an­a­lyst Rene La­ban said the ap­pli­ca­tion will al­so al­low users to set en­er­gy con­sump­tion tar­gets.

He said the ap­pli­ca­tion will show two years of us­age his­to­ry and al­low cus­tomers to de­ter­mine which of their ap­pli­ances use the most elec­tric­i­ty.
