A Preventative Detention Order has been issued for Jahone Rolton Telesford, also known as “Friday,” under the Emergency Powers Regulations, 2026.
The order was made by Minister of Homeland Security Roger Alexander on March 29 in accordance with paragraph 2 of the Schedule to the Emergency Powers Regulations, which allows for the preventive detention of persons deemed a risk to public safety.
According to the order, the minister said he was satisfied that Telesford, who has multiple addresses listed in California and Couva, should be detained with a view to preventing him from acting in any manner prejudicial to public safety.
The order directs that Telesford be detained at the Eastern Correctional Rehabilitation Centre in Santa Rosa, Arima, or at any other location as directed by the minister, and held in lawful custody.
The grounds for the detention state that Telesford has been “credibly identified as a member of the ‘Killers and Sinners’ Organised Crime Gang (OCG), within the legal definition of the Anti-Gang Act, 2021.”
The notice further alleges that the group is involved in shootings, woundings and robberies within the Central Division. It also states that Telesford was recently found in possession of firearm accessories and items from stolen vehicles, and that confidential information indicates he was seen with a firearm in a public place.
The document also alleges involvement in the possession and distribution of dangerous drugs and registration plates linked to a stolen vehicle allegedly used in organised criminal operations and witness intimidation.
