HDC’s Mal­oney of­fice has ad­vised res­i­dents of Mal­oney Gar­dens af­fect­ed by a re­cent po­lice ex­er­cise that they can make re­ports to the Po­lice Com­plaints Au­thor­i­ty (PCA).

The ad­vice comes af­ter it re­ceived 12 com­plaints of dam­age done to HDC apart­ments dur­ing the po­lice ex­er­cise on Sun­day.

Res­i­dents said there was ex­ten­sive dam­age to their ex­ter­nal and bath­room doors, bur­glar proof­ing, and win­dows.

Ac­cord­ing to the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice (TTPS), it con­duct­ed a house search ex­er­cise un­der Op­er­a­tion Hori­zon.

Build­ings 14 and 16 of Mal­oney Gar­dens were searched for firearms and am­mu­ni­tion, how­ev­er, noth­ing il­le­gal was found ini­tial­ly.

1.8 kilo­grammes of cannabis, and 19 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion and a stolen ve­hi­cle were found dur­ing a sub­se­quent search.

Three peo­ple were de­tained in con­nec­tion.
