Po­lice of­fi­cers have iden­ti­fied the head­less body which was found ear­li­er this week off the coast of To­co.  It is said to be that of Al­varo Co­va Car­rion who is orig­i­nal­ly from Tu­cu­pi­ta in Venezuela.  How­ev­er, his head is yet to be found.

Po­lice said the body was pos­i­tive­ly iden­ti­fied by Car­rion's best friend of 15 years by the tat­too in the back that read "Leono­ra Is­abel."

Guardian Me­dia un­der­stands Car­rion’s friend told po­lice that he last saw Car­rion alive sev­er­al months ago in the Cunu­pia area. Po­lice said they were told that Car­rion has been re­sid­ing in Trinidad for the past two years.

Last Mon­day, a cou­ple who was fish­ing at a beach in To­co made a hor­rif­ic dis­cov­ery of the head­less corpse float­ing on the wa­ters.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, at about 5:40 pm on Mon­day 7th March 2022, Ag Cpl Teles­ford and PC Har­ri­nanan re­spond­ed to a re­port of a body float­ing off Pen­zance beach To­co.

Up­on ar­rival at the scene, the of­fi­cers met a 30-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man who both told them that while fish­ing, at about 5:15 pm they saw a body float­ing about 150 feet away from the shore­line and called the po­lice.

A 35-year-old Pen­zance res­i­dent re­port­ed­ly swam out to sea us­ing a rope and re­trieved the body and brought it back to the shore.
