The Police Service Commission has delivered the name of the person who ranked the highest on its merit list for the position of Commissioner of Police to the Office of the President.
Guardian Media was informed the merit list and an accompanying letter were delivered to President's House on Monday.
An official from the Office of the President confirmed that the list was delivered.
The official told Guardian Media that the notification was signed by President Paula Mae Weekes and the list was then sent to the Parliament.
