 Jacqui Koon How’s Dat is a Tri­ni has copped the Kid­dies Band of the Year ti­tle for Ch­agua­nas Car­ni­val 2023.

Her por­tray­al was di­vid­ed in­to four sec­tions that de­pict­ed life in T&T: Every Sun­day is a Boat Cruise, We Mus Buss a Lime, We like too much Fah Fuh Ray, and We cul­ture is the Bess. The com­pe­ti­tion was held on Sun­day.Koon How won the ti­tle in 2020, the last year cel­e­bra­tions were held be­fore the on­set of the COVID-19 pan­dem­ic.

 In the small bands' cat­e­go­ry Judd and As­so­ciates placed first with Se­bu­can. Car­ni­val Com­mit­tee Chair­man Re­nee Bai­ley praised the po­lice for keep­ing cel­e­bra­tions in­ci­dent free and clean. The bands and in­di­vid­u­als crossed the judg­ing point at Ram­saran Street around 4.30 pm. The af­ter­noon was over­cast but com­fort­able enough for the hun­dreds of young peo­ple who came out to take part in and wit­ness the cel­e­bra­tions.
