The 32-year-old sus­pect, who was held in con­nec­tion with the death of An­gel­i­ca Jo­gie at Pi­geon Point beach, has been re­leased pend­ing fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

The sus­pect was ar­rest­ed at his Canaan home ear­ly on April 9, 2026, a few hours af­ter he al­leged­ly crashed his jet ski in­to sev­en-year-old An­gel­i­ca, her par­ents, and an un­cle.

An­gel­i­ca was pro­nounced dead at the Scar­bor­ough Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal on April 8, 2026. Her fam­i­ly and thou­sands of mourn­ers across the coun­try said their good­byes dur­ing her fu­ner­al on Sat­ur­day (April 18, 2026) at her home in Mon­key Town, Bar­rack­pore.

In re­cent in­ter­views with Guardian Me­dia, Se­nior Su­per­in­ten­dent Rod­hill Kirk said the po­lice would not com­pro­mise ac­cu­ra­cy for speed in the in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

He con­firmed that sev­er­al wit­ness­es still were to be in­ter­viewed and as­sured that the po­lice will leave no stone un­turned to un­cov­er the facts sur­round­ing An­gel­i­ca’s death.

Snr Supt Kirk told Guardian Me­dia when all in­for­ma­tion is gath­ered, the po­lice will ap­proach the Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions (DPP) for ad­vice on how to pro­ceed fur­ther.
