Kamla: Let's all have a wonderful and safe Carnival 2023, T&T!

Op­po­si­tion Leader Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar is urg­ing cit­i­zens and vis­i­tors to have a safe Car­ni­val.

In a state­ment, Mrs Per­sad-Bisses­sar said:

"Car­ni­val 2023 marks the first ma­jor cel­e­bra­tion of our na­tion­al fes­ti­val since the COVID-19 pan­dem­ic. As we cel­e­brate, let's all be our broth­ers' keep­ers and watch out for one an­oth­er. Please take heed of the safe­ty guide­lines list­ed by the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice."

The Guide­lines are: Wear min­i­mal jew­ellery; trav­el in groups to and from ac­tiv­i­ties; do not car­ry large amounts of cash; do not ac­cept drinks from strangers or leave drinks un­at­tend­ed; and des­ig­nate an al­co­hol-free dri­ver to and from events.

The Op­po­si­tion leader al­so re­mind­ed the pop­u­la­tion to re­mem­ber that COVID-19 is still with us.

"Please take all nec­es­sary steps to pro­tect your­self as ad­vised by the Min­istry of Health," she urged.
