More than 100 chil­dren from across south Trinidad par­tic­i­pat­ed in the Mara­bel­la Fes­ti­val Coun­cil's 36th an­nu­al Chil­dren's Car­ni­val in Mara­bel­la yes­ter­day.

Host­ed by the Coun­cil's pres­i­dent Al­lan Camp­bell, the chil­dren came out in their num­bers short­ly af­ter 1 pm.

A to­tal of 18 bands par­tic­i­pat­ed in the pa­rade. Flanked by par­ents and oth­er guests, the chil­dren pa­rad­ed along the South­ern Main Road from Bat­too Av­enue to the Mara­bel­la Round­about.

Among those par­tic­i­pat­ing were the Eck­les Vil­lage band, Beach and As­so­ciates and House of Jacqui.

The cos­tumes were clev­er­ly de­signed and fea­tured im­por­tant as­pects of T&T's cul­ture and her­itage.

The bands par­tic­i­pat­ed in three cat­e­gories small, medi­um and large.
