Night Mas in Tobago got off to a late start on Saturday.
Originally carded to commence at 7 pm, Island Jumbies were the first band to roll out from the western end of Milford Road, near the Coast Guard base, just after 9 pm.
Several bands were carded to make appearances on the night, including Emurge Welcome to Pandora; Marcellin Ned and Associates’ Bow Wow Wow; Country Bookie, the T&T’s Regiment presentation of Operation Ground Hog and Bitterness Who Drift at Night.
One of the downsides of the event, however, was the absence of proper lighting along the Milford Road stretch. As such, masqueraders and spectators had to depend on the TTEC street lights and lights from vehicles to make their way up and down Milford Road.
