The funeral for the late minister in the Ministry of Education and D’Abadie/O’Meara) Lisa Morris-Julian and two of her children will take place on January 2, 2025.
The Government, via a statement from the Office of the Prime Minister—Communications on Tuesday, said the state-assisted funeral is scheduled to be held at the Santa Rosa RC Church in Arima at 9 am.
The statement said the Ministry of Foreign and Caricom Affairs continues to support Morris-Julian’s family with funeral arrangements approved by the Cabinet.
The MP and two of her children died on December 16, after a fire broke out at their Farfan Street home.
There is currently a probe into the response to the fire which occurred within walking distance from the Arima Fire Station.
Morris-Julian’s husband Daniel, sister Tracy, eldest son Ixiah, daughter Anya and her boyfriend Edward managed to escape the fire with injuries.
Daniel, Ixiah and Anya were hospitalised.
They have all been discharged.
